100% @Alan, it’s the burned diode one which I replaced with another controller same exact model, after I tried to replace the diode, I still had some short, could be the cap next to it, but also the replacement board reads 0v at throttle signal same as the previous board before burned. So I’m now suspecting the motor board itself to be the problem and not the controller boar, the black plug that has 5 cables it goes to the motor, there might be the problem.

Thanks again once more Alan, much appreciate all the questions and the questions.

Regarding that diode in the photo is indeed burned, and its on the other board not the new one, the new board is fine.

Are you using a 36V battery for testing? If not, why did you change the voltage setting to 36V?

Alan

I actually plan to keep the 36v battery for it, not only for testing, or should be 48v?

As I went back to the original controller that was dead, I found out that there was a short on several places, including the STM32F, apparently something went bad, what would be a suitable firmware to dump on it for this wheel?

If you're using a 36V battery the controller should be set to 36V.

The firmware for the Smart Pies should be SMP5-20150702.OC8 the other two versions (MP5-20150702.OC8 and EDGE-20150702.OC8) are for the Magic Pie 5 and the Magic Pie edge motors.

If your controller is marked 18A it should already have the correct firmware for your Smart Pie.  ;)
