I've been putting together a mountain bike with bits n pieces i've had hanging about, a few parts from Ebay and a few parts from a generous cousin. I've tried to keep things cheap, the frame is brand new and was a reasonable £50.00GBP it is also rear rack and disc brake compliant
, if i'm honest with myself it has cost around £200.00 total - so far!
I've never built a bike from scratch and it has been quite frustrating learning how many variations of sizes and fitments there are whilst sourcing parts, it certainly does not make things easy to assemble.
The bike is very light and as you can see i've also sourced a heavy duty frame bag from the USA which arrived today and i've managed to fit in to it a triangular 54v Lithium ion pack courtesy of forum member Ginge. The pack almost did not fit through the side pocket of the bag but actually it could have been made to measure. By the way, the bag comes with a key operated ignition , not sure if I will use it.
All I need to do now is to electrify the bike to really bring to life.
