measure rpm?
« on: February 18, 2023, 03:24:04 AM »
Is there a "simple" way to measure the rpm of a GM BLDC motor? (HPM3000 with VEC200 controller)
I know it can be set using the programming interface, but I would like to check it during operation.

I did try to look at the voltage waveform on one of the phase terminals using an oscilloscope but it's just 15 kHz square wave...
I can't easily get access to the Hall sensor outputs without breaking them out.
I will try an IR LED+ sensor if nothing else.
Am I missing something?
