BAC281P controller damaged

Hello,
I have controller that has stopped working properly, the motor stutters when trying to press the throttle. When I took the board out of the controller there is a burn, does anyone know what would cause this?
This board was out of a BAC281P controller supplied with 24 volts

Hi andto the forum.

I don't know why this has happened, but it looks as if a 10kOhm resistor (assuming it was the same as the "103" resistor next to it) has somehow been fried.

The resistor must have been faulty and somehow shorted out internally, as 2.4mA (24 Volts / 10,000 Ohms = 0.0024 Amp) of current flowing through a 10kOhm resistor should not have caused it to overheat.
