MP5/SP5/Edge PAS Installation
« on: May 04, 2022, 02:59:42 PM »
Hello,

Can the PAS magnet ring and sensor be installed on the non-drive side of the bottom bracket? I read an older forum topic where it was mentioned that there is a setting on the programming software that can be adjusted to allow for the PAS to be installed on the opposite side. Is this true for the MP5? If so, which setting should be changed?

Thanks for the help!

Hi Ali,

Unless there is something new available on more recent controllers, none of the available settings will alter the direction of the PAS operation:

Dependant upon which pedelec sensor you have, it may work with the magnet ring fitted fitted on the non-drive side.

My MP4 powered "Wheelie Machine" (the only bike I currently have with a pedal sensor installed) does have the sensor fitted on the non-drive side:

Make sure that the arrow on the magnet ring is pointing in the same direction as you normally pedal and you may well find that the PAS will work regardless of which side of the bottom bracket the sensor is mounted on.
