Magic Pie 5 Front and Rear Dimensions?
« on: August 10, 2020, 04:03:48 PM »
Hi,

I was wondering the size difference is between the front and rear Magic Pie motors. Some dimensions of both would be very useful. I specifically need the dropout dimensions.

Many thanks!

Hi Rushmoore andto the forum.

Here are the dimensions for the Magic Pie motors:

The drawings don't show the dropout measurements including the thickness of the two axle washers that fit inside the dropouts:

But the motors usually fit most 100mm front dropouts or 135mm rear dropouts.

Hello alan,

Thank you so much for this! such a big help. I see that the distance of the o.l.d distance is 130, would the motor fit between dropout frame spacing of 130mm? I was wondering also.. will the kit come with the axle washers?

Thanks so much,
Evie

Hi Evie,

If your dropout width is only 130mm, you may need to spring the frame apart slightly to get the washers to fit inside.

Check out my Smart Pie Review to see how I permanently spread my steel frame from 125mm to 135mm. (Not recommended for aluminium frames)

The kit comes with 4 axle washers (2x tabbed and 2x plain) and 2 axle nuts.
