Throttle lights without battery
« on: August 07, 2020, 08:52:28 PM »
Is it normal for my throttle to light up the red LED as I pedal without the battery connected on my Smart Pie rear hub with external controller?

This is perfectly normal, it's just the voltage being generated by the motor as the magnets move past the coil winding in the stator.

The faster you go, the higher the voltage, and the more the LEDs will light up.
