Anyone interested in larger size cast wheels

After struggling with spoke issues and the lack of local supplies and bike shops dealing with 12 gauge spokes I am hoping that Golden Motors whould offer some of their larger sized kits with cast wheels in addition to the traditional spoked version, particularly 700c.  Currently they only offer the 16 and twenty inch in cast only. For those who wish those sizes in spoked the only option is to buy motor and custom build to a rim running into the same spoke issues. Hoping some more choices are in the pipeline and wanted to test the waters seeing if anyone was thinking along the same lines.

Hi Folks,

Magic 3 forgot to mention that they don't wobble, the spokes don't come loose, they are much stronger, a whole bunch stiffer as a disc, are easy to use tubeless,  generally have sealed cartridge bearings, and a several other bad attributes.  I can't imagine why anyone would want to use them:)

Well my friend has MP III cast wheel, he broke in no time.
Big chunk of wheel broke off.....

So he went for normale laced wheel with 12G Sapim spokes and no more broken wheels.
And he is using Henkel Locktite for  securing the nipples.

Also when the cast wheel is not true...how can it be fix?

With normale wheel you can still riding when some spokes are broken.
Or you have build a cast wheel like a motorcycle quality, but too expesive and heavy for a e-Bike...

Hi Magic,

I totally agree with some of your response:  Once a cast wheel is broken, it is junk.  But my experience is that they are much more likely to withstand forces that would damage but not destroy a wire spoked wheel. 

My wife tells me I drive like an idiot,  (I really like acceleration!) and I've had cast alloy wheels on most of my cars since the 1960's.  I have never had any damaged wheels.  My grandson, on the other hand, has broken two alloys by sliding his car into a curb.  I'm pretty sure the wheels were not the problem:)

Yup but you are talking about cars wheels they to have to be strong...
Yes I know what you are talking about.
But I had fake Bimmers wheels and broke when hitting a footpath edge.

I have a Bimmer and very sensitive for sliding twoards footpath for pedestrians

Ahhh, driving sideways!   One of my favorites.  I learned that in 1959, in a '52 Ford my brother hopped up.  The damn thing had triple carbs, tube headers, high compression heads, and no brakes worth mentioning, but it loved to go sideways...

Thanks for bringing back that long forgotten memory!  I learned to hand brake turn in it as well...(And jump over railroad bridges, but don't tell my brother)  And then there was this gorgeous young lady........Shut up, Dennis!  TMI!!!

In 4x4 offroading we always preferred steel wheels as they were better being dented when bashed against boulders than cracked, then finding out in a bad way on the freeway going home. I like the spokes myself when bought as a complete wheel, only issue I have is the rim they used is a bit weird, had to drill the valve hole out larger and it still is 2 short to get a good grip on with clamp type inflating nozzles if flat.
