Quick single rear torque arm question
« on: November 15, 2012, 11:45:11 PM »
Hi,

Ok so I have been searching and searching and I just cant seem to find a definite answer to this.

For a single rear torque arm, what direction should you pull it tight to and then snug up the lug nut? I understand that the axle wants to spin the opposite direction of our wheels forward motion, but whats the proper way to load a torque arm?

My logic tells me to load, or turn it tight in the direction of our wheels forward motion to stop the axles opposite spin, but to load it the other way also makes sense to me?

Just a little unsure about this I have never been much of a physicist  :-\

Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

EDIT:

Ok after writing this it it made sense to me, I have to load it in the direction of the wheel spin cause the other way it doesn't do anything to stop the axle spin lol. Sorry for the dumb question guys  :-[
