Battery charging calculations
« on: October 07, 2012, 05:59:00 PM »
Hello All,

Here are two scenarios:
1) 5 batteries connected in serial    are charged by 5A current during 1 hour
2) 5 batteries connected in parallel are charged by 5A current during 1 hour

Question: how many Amps/hour will receive each battery in each of the described both scenarios?

Let's  assume each of the above batteries has 10Ah capacity and was fully discharged previously (may accept as many Ah as necessary)

Thank you!

In scenario 1 the batteries would get 5Ah each, and in scenario 2 the batteries would get 1Ah each.

But remember that #1 requires a charger with 5x of a single battery voltage... Both scenarios requires the same amount of total power.
