damaged hub motor
« on: July 07, 2007, 04:01:45 AM »
Hello to everyone, I just received my rear 26'' wheel motor kit but the motor was broken at the side of the chain gear. Do you know what I can do for this? I attached photos. Thank you.

You'll have to file a damage claim with FedEx but inform sales of the damage as well.

Yes of course I told this to the TNT courier and to my supplier. Golden motors was very kindly and they told me that they send me an other one.

Nice pics greek-bike,
Are they going to replace it and let you keep the old one ?
I can't tell from the pics exactly how it broke, I see the freewheel is off but cant tell if the thread is damaged or even there.
Close up pics with some dismantling would help !

Good luck dude

The box for the rear kit I received was deeply indented and had a hole poked through the cardboard by the axle on both sides. The Styrofoam gear protector was also deeply indented by the gear teeth.

Seeing this makes me feel lucky mine didn't suffer the same fate. Looks like Golden need sheets of plywood bolted to the end of the axles on each side in order to protect the covers. Even a foot round piece of quarter inch would be better than nothing.

There was damage to my box and kit, too.  It wasn't nearly as bad as this though.  The small plastic connectors were just smashed.
