It has been close to two months since you "announced" this.  When, what size, what cost?  I have a use for this under the right conditions.  Or is this just "vaporware" you are thinking of making?

TTFN,
Dennis

The tooling and molds for mass production of Mini Pie hub motor went well. We will officially release this new product in mid June.

Oy! GoldenMotor!

I have a good friend who wants to get into this electric bike biz. For his needs, the Mini Pie would be an excellent choice. He keeps pointing out other deals and I keep telling him to wait. He's getting antsy and won't wait much longer.

It's early July and your release date is past due.
An update please.

I am now starting to find these coming soon announcements funny. I have no information on this motor, no offer to be able to order any. I had a sea order leave china yesterday and they were not even mentioned. Very simular to the announcement of the MP3 that came to market 12 months or so after its first coming soon release! MP2 was the same.

But they are coming soon!!!

lol

My previous post wasn't directed at you specifically Gary, but thanks for your input.

How long do your shipments usually take in transit? I ask only to get a feel for the kind of lead time to expect, if and when the Mini becomes more than just vaporware. If the lead time is too great, then i'll encourage my friend to go with another product. He's on vacation at the moment, but i'm pretty sure he'll want to move on this sometime around mid August.

Ok, I will ask the obvious questions...

How much?

How soon can we order one?

Thanks,
Dave

Mini Pie @48V:
70% of max RPM (374) = 262 RPM (= typical loaded speed)
At 268 RPM (very close to our 70% figure) the motor is drawing 692W.

Mini Pie @36V:
70% of max RPM (281) = 197 RPM
At 191 RPM the motor is drawing 500W

Looks to me as if GM has released a lion in sheep's clothing. Well, maybe a lynx or an ocelot in lamb's clothing.
Nice goin' GM.
;)

I had a brief conversation with Philip and he did say they are in production now. I have heard this all before though. There always seems to be some delay. Let's hope for the best.

I have just been given the offer to order some of these but I am apprehensive. I know when the MP III was coming out I had three sea orders in a row delayed waiting for the "About to be released MP3".

I'll keep you posted if I have some hit the water. I'm not pre announcing anything this time. When I have some on a boat headed my way I'll let you know.

I do like the concept of this motor though. I have been looking for an excuse to build yet another dual drive bike. Maybe this is it!

I have built a few bikes after my townie dual drive. Somehow I just keep going back to it though. Possibly I have already built my ultimate bike.

Gary

Another topic was the name. Philip was leaning toward the "Smart Pie". I think I have convinced him the "Mini Pie" is a better name.

Will the Mini be available without the "smart" controller?
