Hello,
I had great hopes of fine tuning the Magic Pie III with software. So far I only got the old software and the original MP III software readings are: 25A max continuous and 70A peak! I tried to change the continuous max current to 30A but in no case I was able to draw more than 25A with a Ping 48V battery.
I am wondering if or under which circumstances the advertised new max currents for Magic Pie III are achievable? Say if I were twice as heavy would the max go up?
Would there be a shunt in the internal controller whose resistance I could decrease to increase the peak max? I am happy with the max speed of 29 mi/h though the acceleration is not that great as I am having a 29er (actually thick 700c tires).
Thank you
arek
Hi What AH is the ping pack?
Reducing you bag size height of tire will give you a little more torque. Im not going to advise the shunt mod unless there is something wrong with it.. There is a better power mod on thse forums.
Id did the shunt mod with no consequences, but with the MP1.2 internal controller it minimally aided my takes offs and drew too much current mid range alleceration.
Do you have an idea haw many amps you bke draws from the initial take off?
Some of the internal Magic controllers are a little on the under soldered side, and a lot of the MP2 controllers were terrible at take offs.
