hi buddy
you know about 5 years ago, I went and got a set of Hope lights, dual LED, and at the time, really had to justify it to myself....oh well if I cycle 20 times during the winter ill have made the money back etc etc.....( about 200 squids I think)
all I can say is wow, at 25-30mph in the dark, you need real light.....wet roads, stopping distances, you need big vision and these lights really do provide it.
then I take them off the pie bike, chuck em on cycling bike , just as good,
then get a headband and go running, and people mistake fat bloke running for a car....
On ebay, you can get good sets of led torches from hong kong for £20, with bike mount, 2 x lithium and charger ( which could be wired), and they are blindingly bright ( cree led, made for hong kong police), but the magic is in the lenses with a good set of lights, to get good all round coverage...
