Magic Pie 3 Official Selling Date ?

can you tell us when it will be possible to buy a Magic Pie 3 on you website ?
is it possible to buy one now and then you ship as soon as possible ?
are you going to make a special offer when launching Magic Pie 3

I asked the same question to one of your dealers and he answered you where a bit late because of some trouble with the new controller
apparently it would have been a better idea to have an external controller because of heat
and then you would have had more place to built something really reliable ??
is all that true?

Hi Fred,

From what I have been told the dealers will have them when the release happens. Once again I have made arrangements to have a large order shipped to me. I have done this a few times this year on promises they would ship but have had to cancel those orders so the rest of my sea order would ship.
The statement "they will be out in two weeks" has been a popular one for many months now. I have seen pictures of completed units so it is going to happen soon. When I have an order in a boat on the water on its way here I will then believe the release date will come soon. I am also thinking of haviing a pre-order system setup so people can have them on their way to their front door as soon as possible after they arrive. I am sure many dealers are thinking the same thing. This time I also ordered some spare parts incase any issues come up.

GM China is also saying they will be changing their business model in the near future to no longer sell to the public directly, but only through their dealers. Not sure if this will be a reality or when it will happen but they say soon. This would certainly help solve their email and customer service issues and allow them to focus more on product develoment and getting it shipped.

I hope it all comes out as good as it sounds.

If I were to put bets on it I would estimate early 2012 we will see pie III.

I think the obvious change will be the new internal controller, but do you know if there will be an external version of pie III or will the external still be sold as pie II ?

And do you know if there are any changes to the motor itself, dimensions, faster wind, etc ?

The new batteries look good !!!

I think I might have to buy one.... I think the top battery on my rebuild that I removed the BMS has another dead cell in there somewhere.

Honestly I don't think I can be bothered taking it apart, I'd rather pay for a new one haha

The new batteries will basically match the new MP3 perfectly from the stats

There is no other information other then what is in the picture add we have all seen here. The main goal of the Magic Pie is to have an all in one easy to setup ebike kit with an internal controller and very little involved in the setup. The external versions came when the internal controller in the MP2 was not good enough to satisfy many end users. With a new more powerful controller its unlikely there will be a demand for a MP3 external version.

The problem with the external controller version for the end users that I have seen is that its "wires everywhere"

What GM should do is build an aluminium box that fits onto the bike rack, external controller inside ( with aluminium the case will cool the controller) and have all the internal connections go to 1 connector, much like the connector at the wheel end...that way its just 1 connector at each end of the bike....

Personally I don't see MP3 solving the problems for GM....The MP2's that worked, worked fine, but clearly manufacturing quality and QC have conspired against it.....and if MP3 is manufactured by the same partners etc.....

But don't get me wrong, fingers crossed....
