Mr Lau batteries........
« on: September 26, 2008, 05:12:58 AM »
I feel sorry for all those who brought Lifepo4 batteries through Mr Lau....... E-Bay name was "jimmywu66" now not selling under that name. I was a lucky one to receive my battery at all!....4 weeks wait & many emails later. Also I did receive a replacment charger (original burned out fist time charge) with a better quality unit, all still working after 2 months. I did have to repair poor quality connections on battery terminals (see pic's) & my BMS overheats in regen mode. I do beleive he is now under the E-bay name "mp3hk" & "lukeya59" "EastUnitedMusic" out of Fotan, Hong Kong also selling Hi-Fi amps etc. Please advise any buyers ( I may be wrong? )These Chinese sellers are shifty man! From my impressions "YESA"(Missbattery) & "PING" &  maybe "Cammy CC" have good quality/feedback?.... Cheers & good luck.

Not sure exactly how much amperage the regen is delivering back to the batts but most of the Chinese Lifepo4s can't take much so it has to go somewhere my guess is the BMS must dissipate the extra as heat. I feel lucky to still have functioning batteries.  Bought one of the Foxpower packs some months back.  It does not have an onboard BMS but is ballanced by the charger so no protection from over charging from the regen. No problem in 1200 miles but the controller just died so not sure what is going on as yet.

I was told by Brett White @ solarBBQ if using regen mode the mosfets and other components on the BMS board my be damaged. Though with your Foxx battery all seem to be cool as you have travelled 1200 miles! Cheers & goog luck.
