No current flow

48 volt battery pack charges until charger shows green light
battery pack only checks 44 volts after charging
When this battery is connected to ammeter with a 20 ohm piece of resistance wire, there is only 10mA current flowing. Even if battery is under charged, current should be more than 2 amps.
What gives?

Hi Bingo andto the forum.

44V is much too low for a fully charged 48V pack, it should be around 54.6V.

Check to see if your charger has a voltage switch to select your mains supply voltage.

There might be a simple slide switch like this:


If your charger is fitted with one, set it to the 110V setting (if applicable) by using a small screwdriver or cocktail stick etc. to slide it to the correct position.

Let us know if this rectifies your problem.

Thank you for the tip about the switch, I am aware of that.
However, the fact that a battery, at any voltage, should be able to supply more than 10mA when shunted thru a resistance and an ammeter.
