lipo power
« on: July 09, 2011, 03:20:50 PM »
Hi, I am looking to buy a 48v 1000w motor, I just trying to decide to get from the the UK or save some cash and get it from china.

I am looking at using some HK lipo packs, I am hoping to use 2x 5000mah 6s packs?  will these work well with this motor?  I am guessing I would only get about 6-10 miles?

Thanks

1000 watts/48 volts (sayin 50 to make math easy)
 About 20 amps.  5AH/20 A is 1/4 hours.

Your guess is close.  The problem  comes from deep cycling the battery
Repeatedly  draining the battery shortens the life of the pack.

I would recommend buying it from a dealer rather then the factory. If you have an issue the factory is not very responsive at times. You may even want to send an email to the prospective dealer to test their response time.

Go with a dealer, as the battery is a big investment, and you want to know you are going to get support when you need it....

Take gary above.......I have no hesitation buying from him.....:) ( cause I probably give him more support issues than the rest of europe lol)
