Latest developments. New order made.
« on: April 08, 2011, 07:56:50 PM »
Well, the ball is rolling :). I've ordered some stuff from GM CA.
'Her in doors' has decided she wants some of the e-bike action seeing that i'm having all the fun. I've ordered three 36v 250w mini motor kits, one for the 'trouble n strife' and two kits for 'yours truely' ;).     I'm hoping to eventually put together a dual mini motor set-up, but I think i'll try and test a rear mini kit first with a frame mounted Lithium pack from Ginge. I may need some help deciding what current limit to set for the mini motor in accordance with the agressive batt pack I will be using.
As usual I don't really know what i'm heading in to but that is the exciting part.
Please give me advice as it's always needed , and I usually miss the obvious.

more cider...........and a stronger crash helmet for them danged parked cars :D

turnigy watt meter might be handy for comparision between actual amps and programmed amps....you can see what effect the programming has over what the motor is supposed to do...i use mine in charging, but they can be used in line during cycling....

Thank for that Andrew,

I vote Cycle Analyst, then you could use it to control the bike too!

Oh yes for sure cycle analyst is better, and the limiter is great .....but if the budget is short, the turnigy for about 20 dollars/uk pounds is a great starting point......

I have a turnigy watt meter which is used to keep an eye charging batteries, so thius will come in handy. As far as a CA is concerned  I would have bought one by now if it was not for the the high aesthetic standards I have for my bike -lol :D

To begin with should I limit anything before I mangle the motor?

I know the CA is not the prettiest thing. I think that was the first thing I wrote is the forum about it when I received mine. But the functionality cant be beat and I cant seem to enjoy ebike without one. My CCM build will be getting its CA today, so much for keeping it simple :)

You could limit your food and cider intake and take up jogging :)

Hahaha!  OMG! the virtual projection of myself on this forum is at an all time low :o  :D

But yes, you're probably right!  :D

I hate to use acronyms but......... LMFAO  :o

It's a shame that I haven't added a CA onto my order. But I suppose that would have been an impossibility anyway. Gary?

I think Gary was just repeating the same words his wife had said to him earlier, but he has obviously changed the word "beer" to "cider". ;)

Nothings impossible andrew, if your thinking about it drop me an email. I was just chuckling to myself thinking how most ebike riders are overweight. Its such a stero-type. I recall one time riding along on my ebike with my son on his pedal bike. I heard someone say " hey look that guys got a motor". Someone else said "his son doesn't, thats not fair" then the first guy said "looks like he could do without the motor himself" People are so mean! :D
