Wheel blocked in generative mod
« on: July 30, 2008, 05:39:05 PM »
Hello,
My wheel is hard to turn
I think that my wheel remains blocked in generative mod
somebody he has already had this probleme
if yes how you resolved it
pedelec and throttle no work
shorted or not the regenerative braking, no change work.
as well as shorted phase calibration.
thank you for your answers

Does it turn freely when not connected at all?

If so, it might be a hall sensor failure telling the controller it is in a different position than it actually is.  Verify your hall sensor connections, and then check the voltage levels as you turn under no throttle.  Switch to non-regen mode and try it.  If the hall sensors are all fine, there might be a problem with either the FET's in the controller, or the MCU in the controller itself.

Have you recently disconnected and reconnected the wiring to the wheel?  Check the pins in the connector to ensure that you haven't bent a pin and it just LOOKS like it's connected correctly.

hello OneEye
I am french, sorry for my english
thanks for you answer
The wheel turn freely when not connected at all
It is not my first kit
I know that the wheel brakes hardly when I do not touch the throttle with shorted regenerative braking.
if one sensor is out, the wheel chokes, it is not mine.
all sensors ok
all fet's ok, no shorted.
i reset the MCU on pin 1-2 on connecteur into the controller, but no change.
the led light on off correctly
so I think the MCU is blocked in generative mode, but I don't know if hard or soft.
I repeat (fear of not being understand), no change mode with connected at all.
my wheel brakes hardly all the time

I don't have any experience with the regen controller, but the regeneration power out should be proportional to the rotational speed of the wheel.  That would suggest there would be no resisting torque at a stop.  It sounds like it is expending power to apply the resisting torque, which sounds like a hall sensor mismatch to me.  Can you confirm the correct signal is being returned to the controller from each the hall-effect sensors?

You might want to post your problem on the Endless Sphere forums.  There are some native French speakers (Quebecois) on the forum who would be happy to help you trouble shoot in your native tongue.

A bientôt

hi Master12
I am going to follow your advice and post on Endless Sphere Forum
OneEye the signal is correct on all sensors (~4,3v).
I continue to look
see you later

hi Everybody,
I have the soluce
The three sensors on the wheel failed
no power on items
I verified with external power, they were corrects.
but when I connected with controller, no power on sensors.
the wire was cuted
To know
when the wheel brakes hardly, but no choked and throttle no work (no touch)
the three sensors are failed
the power or the ground is disconnected on sensors
thank Everybody for your Assistant and your answers

et comme disait mon grand-pére

Quand ça va, faut aller avec ! - Quand on n'a PAS d'ennui ou de souci, il ne faut PAS en chercher.

goodbye Everybody
