Thinking to buy MP for using in Israel
« on: February 14, 2011, 06:08:05 PM »
I need to know if the internal controller will withstand the hot weather in Israel,it can get to 40 digress Celsius  ;D and how fast can I get on 20 inch weals my hight is 191 cm and I wight 90 kg  ::)

Thanks in advance Gregory

I think at some point you would have to say it might be wiser to get a kit with an external controller for such an extreme climate. I can just picture your bike sitting in the sun at 40c and then you go for a ride...

Sounds a little more extreme then my ride dodging the snow banks testerday.

Gregory,

The Magic Pie should be fine, but I would suggest you purchase the external controller version, as it would be more suitable for use in your extreme temperatures.

The motor and controller both generate their own heat, so the internal controller version is much more likely to overheat and cut out when it gets too warm. This is due to the additional heat that will build up within the sealed hub assembly, because there are no vents to allow a flow of air to help keep it cool.

We have reasonably hot summers in Canada, maybe 30c at its hottest. but we do not have a dry arid climate like you do in isreal. There are no palm trees or deserts in Canada, just grass, trees, lakes and streams. I think it is quite different here then Isreal.
