Trouuble 5 Bips and .... HELP
« on: January 17, 2011, 04:19:14 PM »
Hello
I had some trouble with my Magic Pie for a little while : sometimes the motor didn't want to work when accelerating
and now it is not working at all : it only makes 5 bips and that's it
I tried to put the battery of and start it again but other 5 bips
and when the battery is off when I ride the bike then the wheel is "trembling "/ "shaking" and it's hard to ride
please : what is happening ?
this is a Magic Pie wheel with 48V10Ah battery and external controller
thank you for the answer

Fred

Hi Fred,

Unfortunately 5 beeps is usually an indication that the controller has failed. :(

If you leave the battery turned off and also disconnect the three thick phase wires (Yellow, Green and Blue) from the controller, you should find that the bike will be a lot easier to ride (without the trembling, shaking and heavy braking effect that you have already experienced), proving that the controller is at fault.
Fortunately this is much easier to do with an external controller!

As your Pie is still be within warranty, you will need to contact the original supplier to request a replacement controller.
Email tom@goldenmotor.com if it was purchased direct from China.

Let us know what happens.

Alan
