Rear Mini Motor in 135mm dropouts?
« on: September 15, 2010, 11:14:41 AM »
Of the three four GM motors I have, one is a GM rear mini motor that was purchased some time ago.  The thing is WAYYYY wider than will fit in 135mm dropouts, so I did a bend/offset job on a steel framed bike to make it work.

The engineering drawing of the CURRENT GM rear mini motor suggests that it DOES fit into 135mm - and would even suggest it's possible to bolt on a disc rotor!  Is this true?  I don't want to wind up with another 155mm monster - but I have an application that the light weight and stealth appearance would suit well.  The motor is quiet and satisfying in operation.

Can someone confirm what I'll get if I order another unit?  It really has to fit 135mm dropouts.

And, BTW - are they all silver now - or still silver/black?

Thanks!

Sweet.  Thanks for the pic!

AND it looks to take a full 7-speed freewheel!

I've ordered one :-)

Hi,
I'm looking to fit the 250W mini motor in a rear suspension bike I've just found, have you installed yours yet?
Has anyone managed to fit the disk rotor in the 135mm fork as well?

Phil
