Sorry, but a promotion has ended.
Top speed is the same, but stronger torque.
The 20 inch depends on the demand for it.
Brakes remains the same.

...Then we would have a final version of Magic Pie Pro which has a super-intelligent controller that allows users to modify their top speed, the controller firmware, the acceleration, the different speeds for different rim sizes and last but not least, be able to connect to either a Cat-Eye or your favorite Watts Up meter, displaying numbers which matter to many eBike enthusiasts.

Is there any 'super-intelligent controller' on your drawing boards (or test bench)? any more info on that?

Not now. Well the first day response was good, our dealers are attracted to this new product as well. Hence we will throw funds into the full setup bikes and the intel controller. However you have to give it time to develop a USB cabled Magic Pie.

How about that bluetooth throttle?  ::)

I think MIT Greenwheel is using one, but that is just a concept at the moment :)

How about that bluetooth throttle?  ::)

The throttle controls are connected by wires as Bluetooth testing was not successful. When the Bluetooth battery was low, the motor cannot receive any further signal until battery was replaced.

If the throttle device transmitted the bluetooth signal for a split second, but only when the throttle position varied, it would greatly prolong the battery life. At a constant speed, no signal would need to be transmitted until the throttle is moved to another position.

The throttle could have a reed switch or similar which would disconnect the battery when the throttle was fully closed to ensure maximum battery life. A small capacitor would enable the throttle to send a last "no throttle" signal before it was fully discharged. Simply moving the throttle would automatically reactivate its position sensing circuitry.

This would work similar to a wireless cycle computer, which only sends one tiny pulse per wheel revolution instead of a continual signal.
Their batteries usually last for ages, unless you're unlucky enough to park your bike with the magnet right next to the reed switch.  ::)

A "low battery" signal could be sent to the controller, which would then beep regularly to indicate that the battery needs replacing.
(like smoke detectors)
You could possibly switch over to a built in emergency battery or have a quick charge option using the hub's usb connection?

I'm sure GM could turn the prototype version into a completely viable product with a bit more thought and development. ;)

Yao,
You should forward these comments to whoever deals with your design and development projects, and then post a video response.
I think I can guess the response already.

Ok, I'm just thinking how well it works in that MIT project. I Don't know any details about it.

Yes, that one. But no words how well it _really_ works :)

Imagine this:

You are cruising at a speed of 47KPH on the road one lovely morning. Suddenly, the blue tooth fails, and you are unable to send the "STOP" signal to the bike. Panic? Reach behind to twist the keys? Boom. That's why no bluetooth.

To be fair, the 'no signa'l state for bluetooth should be
"Off" not previous/current state.

Still, that leaves you with a dead bike to push home.

Something different, however, could be something like
(but not) X-10, where a high frequency oscillation in
the frame is modulated by the throttle control and read
by the controller.

The whole problem is that it violates the K.I.S.S. principle.
(Keep it simple, stupid!)

True.
Frequency oscillation in the frame sounds cool, but as you say it needs to be kept simple, and for now that means going with a proven methods. What ever you use will result in a failure of some description sooner or later, be it flat batteries or a pinched wire from dropping the bike or what ever.

I got stranded in my car one night with a snapped throttle cable. I managed to get home by collecting the all the shoelaces from everyone in the car, tieing them together with one end on the throttle body and the other end fed through the driver window and controller by pulling on the string. It wasn't ideal but we got home  :D

Hi Yao,

It's good to see you back on the forum again, let's hope you can shake off this bug and start to feel better soon.

Perhaps I shouldn't have removed the new topic 'tamiflu for sale PV2', as it sound like you could do with some.
(Unless you've been infected by a computer virus, as I know there are plenty of these going around) ;D
