36v & 48v controller dual uses

I bought the controller(one) for the 36v & 48v .I think they are mainly used on 36 volt. Is there something I need to do to the controller to use it with my 48 volt rear wheel ? A switch?

Which controller did you buy and what voltage did you specify?

The BAC-281 controller is designed for 36V but will work fine at 48V, except for its LVC function which is only designed to protect a 36V battery.

If the 36V controller is used with a 48V battery with its own BMS, provided the BMS incorporates a LVC there is no problem.

If the 48V battery does not have any form of LVC, you will need to monitor the voltage during use to ensure that the battery does not become over discharged, as this can cause irreversible battery damage.

I ordered the BAC 281 with the GM 48 volt  Lithium Ion battery .I want to use this combination with the GM 48volt 1000 w rear wheel .Will this combo work or should I buy a 48v controller?

That combination should work fine.
