Lamination thickness
« on: May 18, 2018, 05:00:23 PM »
I have been hearing that lamination thickness affects motor efficiency a and advertised as an advantage for other motors.

Does anyone know what the pies lamination thickness is. Mainly interested in the edge but knowing the others would be good too.

I found this page. According to that, the lamination thickness is 0.45mm but I'm not sure if I trust that page yet...

Interesting page certainly looks like work in progress, though didn't see the mention of .45mm

Did you scroll far enough down the page?

0.45mm sounds pretty realistic to me.

Yeah went all the way but seems not all showed up on my mobile device.

Seems that this is thicker than many others are offering unfortunately. Though unsure of how large an effect.

Doing a little research it seems common thickness are 0.50mm and 0.35mm and some mentions of 0.47mm

0.35mm is considered the high quality option(higher efficiency and less cogging). Hopefully the 0.45mm is a mistake and it's actually 0.35mm, though I don't have any way to confirm.

And looks like confirmation that it's 0.35mm

(This was in reference to magic and Smart Pie but doubt it would not also apply to the edge)
