HOW TO CONVERT THE STANDARD 36V CONTROLLER IN REGENERATIVE?

Hi all. :)

Last weekend,I noticed that if you unplug the batteries ,the red led indicator turns on(battery meter), when you use the bike(with batteries unplugged)

So... the question is: Is it possible to convert the original controller(36v) to work as a regenerative controller as well?

Maybe using some diodes and switches... (and or mosfets)?

Can the hub motor be adapted to work in generator mode?

Is it similar to a car alternator?

I will try to do some tests here...

My bike is working well, I just need to fix that cut off voltage issue..

Unfortunately it is less expensive in time and money to purchase a regenerative controller than to make one yourself since the lower price of a manufactured one comes from lower cost per unit due to volume sales once design costs and tool up are paid. You can build a circuit to tap the output from a hub motor by starting here.

I guess I will have to wait for the 48volt regen controller. :)
