Programming Cable Compatibility
« on: November 23, 2020, 09:24:47 PM »
I have an MP4 with programming cable, which has been great for me for many years now.  I am now thinking of getting a new Smart Pie 5, or possible Edge for my son so we can be a GM family :D

Could anyone tell me if the MP4 programming cable will work with the Smart Pie 5 internal controller, and/or the Edge, or would I need a new one?  (I can do a little manual re-wiring myself it that's possible...)

I am also thinking about Smart Pie External controller...but I am assuming that has a very different programming cable?  I couldn't find a picture of that one.

Thanks!

The SP4, SP5, MP4, MP5 and MP Edge equipped with vector controllers all use the same PI-405 programming cable:

The SP5, MP5 and MP Edge can also be programmed using the Bluetooth dongle and a suitable phone.

The programming cable for the Smart Pie External will depend upon which controller you use.
If you use the BAC-281P controller:

You would need to use the PI-200E programming lead:
