Motor over current protection kicks wrongly in.
« on: November 17, 2017, 03:43:32 PM »
Hello everyone,

I have lately many "overcurrent motor protection" events, but it comes up when I use the MP5 short and not even use half power. Than sudenly the power to the wheel stops completely/fails. But the MP5 app (1.6 ver) is not even close to it's max. settings. I have my MP5 Battery drawn current settings at 30A and rated phase at 70A.  But my MP5 controller quits power at about 12Amps. I can see this on the app. Luckely I now have ver. 1.6 installed on my phone. Before the app didn't work for longtime.

By the way I have an extremly heavy bike, with me on it... about 340KG or about 700lbs. But it was during two years not a problem. What can be wrong? Or perhaps I can do something about it. It also likely to occur more when the motor gets warm.

My MP5 runs on 32x Headway 40152 15Ah cells, configured to 2 batteries of 24volt/30AH system with heavy BMS-systems. With my multimeter I don't see any powercut. BUT THE mp5 App tells me motor overcurrent protection in the km/h dial in the android app.

Thank you for any advises!

Love to ride my 60 year old Dutch Transport Bike, with MP5 and 24 volt 30 A LiFePO4 Headway battery-pack. Dec 2016 upgraded with two solar panels mono of 190 WP each and an extra 24V-30A (40152 8S2P) to get 48volts for the Magic Pie 5.
