I presume it didn't recover when it had dried out again, but do you know where the water was getting in?
Was it seeping through the joint between the outer screen and the front bezel?

Does the mode switch still work to select the different PAS levels? (Even if it is not displayed.)

I don't think the +5v regulator would cope with the amount of current required to recharge a phone battery, I suspect it would either overheat and keep cutting out or perhaps burn itself out completely.

Hi Alan,

im not sure where the water get in the display meter... maybe from on top of the bezel..

i don't install PAS yet.. but the function to switch on off screen light is ok.. also the same with changing the mode of display, there is change on the screen but not perfectly normal..

Mr Bulp,

I'm sorry to hear of your water ingress issues.  I took my MP4 and BAC display through pretty heavy winter rains, everyday this winter and I was VERY pleasantly surprised that both the MP4 controller, the BAC display, the switch gear and connectors all went through it all without a hitch, and I have to say I wasn't at all confident they wouldn't be ruined on the first shower.  But I was proven wrong.  So I think you may have hit the quality control issues at GM on yet another instance (for me its PAS not working, BAC under reading etc etc).  Hopefully you can get it sorted.

Good Luck,

WestOz
