Ref Sheldon Brown's bike site:
"Direct-pull cantilevers require special brake levers.
Direct-pull brake levers pull the cable twice as far, half as hard."
The GM brake levers I have appear to have the same geometry as those on my current ride with "linear pull" (aka direct pull) cantilever brakes.
For what type brakes are GM's levers intended to be used ?
