Troubles with Motor and Controller
« on: January 21, 2014, 10:57:33 AM »
Hi All,

I need your advice.

After replacing a hall sensor in the motor, the motor is able to run only when it's off the ground. Under load (when it's on the ground) it doesn't run - it seems that the Controller provides very small pulses of current, which are not able to move the vehicle.

I tested both the Motor and Controller with the eBike Tester. As for Motor - is everything okay. As for the Controller I have some suspicions, so here is a link for the video - please take a look.

Please advice what the problem might be. The Controller itself has LEDs indication, which shows that it operates properly.

Battery is fully charged. The throttle was also tested and it operates properly.

Thank you in advance for all your tips and recommendations.

Have you tried pedalling the bike to launch and then seeing if the motor then kicks in with throttle while the wheel is already turning?
Do you know what voltage is being pulled from the battery when the wheel is off the floor?

Watching the video made me quite dizzy :o

My vehicle doesn't have pedals... I'll check regarding the voltage drop from the battery, but I almost sure there will not be a big drop...

Are there another ideas how to test the problem?

Under load: the motor current peak is 1.96A (without load is 1.7A), voltage drops on about 1V.

Thank you!
