MP3 48 Volt Settings

Hello I have just upgraded my 24V battery to 48V on my MP3.  The battery definitely has power and the bike works.  The problem is it constantly cuts out when I am riding about 30 seconds into acceleration.  My settings were 35 continuous and 50 peak.  Does anyone have any information about this problem or have a solution?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I hooked up the volt meter and I am definitely over 48V coming from the battery.  If I hold the back wheel were the motor is up off the ground the bike runs perfectly.  However if I get on the bike adding my weight then the bike cuts out after about 15 - 30 seconds. If I turn the power off and then back on the bike comes back to life but then the same problem occurs.

I hope more details might help someone help me diagnose the problem.

Is it a GM battery? I recall from your other post that you have a 15ah 48V. Strange that it is cutting out, a battery of that size should be able to supply your Pie with enough juice. It sounds like the BMS on the battery is cutting the power from either too much current being drawn or the voltage sagging too low. Do you have any sort of watt meter to watch while you are riding the bike? How about LEDs on your throttle?

Hello,

     It is not a GM battery.  It is a LifeP04 48V 15AH battery.  I don't have a watt meter to monitor while I am riding unfortunately.  The LEDS on the throttle all light up (like when the system was working before).  Is there any other way to determine if it is the BMS connected to the battery?

Just wanted to add the voltage coming directly out of the battery is 54.6V and after the BMS its 48V.

Do you have a link to the battery you are using? Also, what is your "Motor Voltage" setting configure to on your Magic Pie? I am not sure if it the same with the MP3 but I know the MP2 sometimes works better on the 24V setting even when running a 48V battery.
