MP3 spacing between stator and rotor?
« on: December 03, 2012, 10:14:03 AM »
Anyone how much mm spacing is between rotor and stator?

I would like to know because, maybe I want to paint it.

It's not much.  About 1.0mm, but what exactly does this have to do with painting the motor?  The rotor/stator gap is inside the motor.

ohhh... ok.  That makes sense. plenty of room between them for paint.  The paint will add less than .010".  Go for it. I'd recommend an appliance epoxy paint.

Well I have painted the rotor and stator.

But with the play of this motor, it's shaving.

So I have removed all painted area of the rotor.
And repainted with normal gray primer, it's much thinner.

Also for best resusts just baked the rotor and stator in the oven at 50 celcius.
