Mp3 controller limits the voltage, the Factory Default's value is 36 v, if use 24 v battery, MP3 motor doesn't work, the controller needs program with usb cable, but MP2 not. Things like that.

Would you have a link to the new program to control MP3? The ad picture: http://www.goldenmotor.com/e-Bike-DIY/MagicPie3G-GoLive.jpg illustrates that I could set the max current to 35A. How would we do that?

Hi,
You can set the max current to 35A ,but the motor running ,the current can not reach 35A ,35A refers to current peak .When the largest power refers to the peak power, the current peak can achieve short time to the most high power,  the current can reach peak when climbing.

Also many members here report more power using the 24v setting in software.  I believe this doesn't just adjust the LVC but also the PWM to compensate for the shunt resistance impeding source current at the lower voltage @ 24v.

You hit a bump going up a big hill you may see a peak..

I added another shunt to my controller.  Apparently this mod disables a safety feature and human error can often cause failure.

However, IMO lower resistance between the motor and battery creates less resistance between pack and motor in regen switching operations which can push down any voltage spikes.

I still have a working GM MP2 (shunt modded) internal controller capable of 50 amps, no sweat. , but I have only enabled regen for testing for a short period.

I went over every connection on the PCB and beefed it all up and improved all the fet connections to the bus and traces. 

Awesome little controller when you add some personal improvements.

The factory settings for the current are probably already set to their maximum settings, so you could use the software to reduce these figures, but you cannot increase them above the factory default setting, which is 25 Amps continuous and 70 Amps peak:
