Controller Voltage Setting
« on: March 27, 2012, 07:17:25 PM »
trying to post but cant!

I bought a BAC controller 24v/50a. I upped my volts to 36v and it seems to work fine. Is this OK? or do I need to go in a set it with the PC?

Hi andto the forum.

If your battery pack has a built in Battery Management System (BMS) there is no need to alter the voltage settings in the controller.
However, if your pack does not have a BMS, it might be better to reprogram your controller voltage setting to 36V so that you can use the Low Voltage Cut-out (LVC) function of the controller to prevent your pack from becoming overdischarged.
