Alarm operation
« on: February 06, 2012, 06:18:13 PM »
Hi I am new to the forum. I have a Magic Pie controller for a PRO901 system. The bike is operational but it is not quite clear to me how the alarm is supposed to function. The instructions are not clear to me. For one thing my controller does not have a beeper (I opened it up and looked and it is not present at the spot reserved for it on the Circuit board). Does the beep come from the controller or the horn? The instructions say: "Cut off power to the motor (called soft start switch but controller is still powered on).....  Take out the battery key".  What does the battery key switch do as I do not have one? I am not sure what the soft start switch is as the wiring diagram does not refer to a soft start switch. Is this the "Lock" switch referred to on the wiring diagram?)    If so I do not use this and cannot see how it would work. Any ideas? I like the idea of locking the motor with the controller current.  I can probably figure it out but I thought I would ask first and see if anyone has experience with the locked rotor aspect of the alarm.

Hi Samson andto the forum.

I fear you may be wasting your time trying to get the alarm to work, as many of the later controllers don't seem to support this function.

Check out this post for more details.

Alan is correct..
Unless you have a version 1 Magic Controller, there is NO alarm function any more.. :(

I LOVED that function, but the V1 controllers were really flaky and overloaded a lot.
