Controller dead or motor wires sheared?

Had kit delivered at xmas and now not working...

I just had my kit delivered and had it working with no issues but was not happy with my fork setup. So... I had disconnected the controller and wiring so I could get a better balance on the washers on the forks. I read about using a half washer to better balance the forks where you are replacing a quick release front hub. When I reconnected and tested the wheel it moved slightly and was vibrating a bit (not free wheeling) properly. I abandoned the half washers and reconected the wheel and tightened more and was happy I then had a good setup for the forks.

Went to test the motor and no power or movement at all!!??

I have got a multimeter and report the following tests;

1. Throttle wiring seems OK 4-5 volts in and 1 volt out rising to 4.

2. no current on motor wires out of controller also no continuity on controller side (is this normal?)
   Continuity on motor side OK

3. hall sensor negative to positive 4.8 volts. Other combinations similar.

Am I right in assuming then the controller is stuffed?

any tests to prove or disprove very wellcome.

Could be an easy fix.  Often, and I have done this, when the hall sensor plug is put together one or more of the male spade terminals does not go in the right place.  They fit a bit loose and bend a bit to miss their female counterparts.  Check that first several others have had the same problem.

put through your battery to controller,
Don't connect your throttle
then short  red thin wire and black thin wire or red one and green one what are used to connect the throttle in your controller
If your motor move,mean your throttle doesn't been connect well.

I think Tom said power up the bike with the throttle disconnected.   Short the wires from the controller that usually connect to the throttle..  See his post for colors. To rule out throttle problems.
