I believe that the X5 can take more volts than either the pie or the nine continent motors, and overall is probably more powerful based on controller, however is also a lot more expensive.....

The X5 fan go up to 2kW (96V?)

The X5 is also 20 pounds (8.1kg) and has higher
rolling resistance.

This morning I ran nearly constant 800 watts with peaks of up to 2.5KW, for over an hour due to a strong westerly wind...

My own experience with the pie has been rock solid ( on a different controller, but the gm one was ok...but never used much regen), approaching 5000 miles now, 1 bearing changeout has been about it for the wheel itself, and it has seen some rough times

I know the crystalyte in a lot of ways will outperform the Pie.....bit like comparing a ferrari and ford cosworth, the most expensive should perform the best, if you get what I mean

I really want someone to fully utilise a Kelly controller with some serious hardware connecting to a MP

Check this out with the features, and many of the controllers you can add a CAN bus to monitor everything too.

I think I'm going to have to be the guinnea pig :D Just hope I don't roast any pies in the process hehe

I'll let you know :) lol christmas is coming haha

Hey but seriously, look at the throttle power control with take off, and end throttle you could limit the max and continous amps to a certain point. There is a speed boost feature and the maximum output functions are for 1 minute. You can even get a CAN bus for them but I cant seem to find much detail on what info is provided on the BUS

I would expect you would need 2 wheels, 1 to find out the sheer limits and the other to replace it :D

In my search, I did find a picture of what they know as a 'CAN BUS' in New Delhi haha
