My China Highlights!
« on: August 11, 2011, 08:22:24 AM »
I was lucky enough to visit China for two weeks. Beijing, Xi'an, Chongqing, Shanghai, Yangtze River.

Here are a few highlights.....  :D  I hope the comments below do not  offend in any way(it's just my crap sense of humor), China is a magnificent Country that we in the West could learn a hell of a lot from.

Mixed opinions at Tiananmen Square...

The Communist Government make a rare appearance in the Forbidden City...

The Red 'raw' Army, Now you know how they get their name....

I'll have some of what he's smoking....

The Great Wall of People....

This must be a Chinese Hippy......

Darth Vader.....

The Chinese prove they were first to mass produce with two thousand year old pottery....

Anyone for Pig Spine?

6.00am  Break dance class for the over 60's

Peace be with you,

Andrew :)

That's not mixed opinions, they are just looking at two different people.

The taller must be looking at you, and the shorter one is obviously looking at Sarah!
Your avatar, it makes perfect sense.

Ha, you've got a point there Alan :D

Actually, The biggest culture shock in China was how much the locals stared at us!   Even in the big Cities people would point at us and even take photos of us.   We were even asked if we would be in photos with total strangers.   When on a bus a man leaned forward and put his head between our seats and just stared at Sarah for a matter of minutes :D  Children would point and alert their Parents, we must look really strange to them if they have had no contact with westeners. Me with my hairy face and big nose, and Sarah with her very pale complexion and bright blue eyes.

Even in a resturant in Shanghai not only were most of the customers staring at us but even the staff were pointing at us and laughing. They asked us to sign a comment book about the service and had to go right back through the book to find another english entry.
