How much is a human worth?

In terms average speed over a given distance how much of a boost would you expect pedalling flat-out would make compared to motor only?

Well today I ran such a test.  It was a 3.8 km flat-ish loop.  The first run was motor only with a fresh charge in the battery.  Average speed 28.2 kph

The second lap was me pedalling with as much effort as my unfit self could be expected to put in without leaving the seat + full throttle: Average speed 33.3 kph

I was actually expecting more like 10 kph difference.

I guess wind resistance has the final say for your cruising speed in normal circumstances....

Cheers,
Jeremy.

Yes, of course, maybe you want to have a look here: http://kreuzotter.de/english/espeed.htm
With the same power, you can drive a lot faster with a velomobile than an upright bicycle, even if the velomobil is much heavier. I was surprised myself
