1000w motor
« on: December 11, 2007, 12:24:54 AM »
I give up trying to get my golden kit up and running I bought a 1000w
cyclone kit. I have it up and running on two 24v nimh,s giving 48v. I am not sure the batts can handle the fast discharge as the motor cuts if I throttle up and comes back when I throttle back the batts heat up affter a few minates also. the bike is a 26" full supension mtb . Any ideas?
thanks
Al.

How many amp hours are the batteries, and what is their rated "C" discharge rate?  You could be experiencing excessive voltage drop under load if the batteries aren't up to the challenge.

yeah I just discoverd I need at least a 10c rateing as my nimhs are only 3c and this motor can draw 70amps peak. I am told lifepo4 is the way to go as its got a 12c rateing, jesus this is an expensive learning experiance L.O.L.
