1st, I wanted to say thanks for everyone's help thus far! I really appreciate & value it all
For those who don't know, I am making a new powerchair that meet my needs but I am dirt poor (on a fixed disability pension- ODSP); so I can't afford much.
All I have is a set of used AGM Deep Cycle SLAs from my prior chair & the ancient original set... At +200lbs, it's not very functional but I can't afford to buy better! Obviously Li types are ideal but they are out of my financial reach.
For now, I'll have to make do. I've already sold all I can & tapped out my support networks help (I'm very grateful), just to purchase the motors & bits.
I looked at cheap lithium type batteries (I'm open to ideas) but it's still way beyond me! I was told to post here to see if anyone has any old/used/broken/etc. lithium batteries/cells they might let me scavenge...
I'm experienced with lithium batteries types, I take safety/common sense seriously! I already scavenge laptop/phone batteries when I can... But it's only a few cells occasionally; not enough for an e-bike battery pack.
I live in southern Ontario & I'm willing to pay the shipping, pick-up/meet-up or whatever's needed. Obviously, it won't be ideal capacity, range, C-rates, etc; it's on me to get it working; & any risk/liability is on me!
I'll take anything I can get, I don't care about capacity, voltage, type, size, age, health, etc! I'll scavenge what I can & then ensure the rest is properly recycled.
I understand if it's not possible to help... I know life's never easy & if need be, I'll make do with what I have... I just figured no harm in asking...
