Bike Frame Attachment Points
« on: March 30, 2016, 03:37:17 PM »
Hello everyone I just got a new bike frame and I want to mount my rear bike rack to the rear bike frame by the rear wheel.  My old bike had places to screw the bike rack into.  Unfortunately my new bike frame does not.  Does anyone know where I could get something that I could bolt onto my frame to attach the bike rack to or does anyone have a solution they used for a similar issue?  I am looking for something like this (first picture).  My new bike frame doesn't have mounting options to the frame by the seat post as well so I ordered this (second picture).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I have contacted some metal shops but they don't seem interested in doing such a small job.

Thank you for any ideas/suggestions or help.

Cheers.

Actually While I'm at it. Look at the way the bottom of the rak-001 is mounted on the wifes bike.

You can see there are no holes for mounting the rack as its a full suspension bike. To fix this I picked up some conduit clips at the local hardware store. Wrapped some inner tube around the frame then wrapped the conduit clip around that. Then attach the bottom of the rack with a bolt and lock nut. This method has worked on several bikes for many miles.
