Catastrophic breakdown of MPIII

After reading this post I was just curious and did some inspection of my Mavic downhill rim.
Wooww I had some cracks around the valve, I think caused by salt (winter period).
And no spokes were broken....so...

Damn salt  If it wasn't so slippery without it I would petition to ban it from the roads.

Yup even there is no ice there is salt on the road (in winter period).

Most damaging on my bike are caused by salt...

That's why I couldn't get the cover of the Magic Pie 3, salt corrosion at bearing axle...
