Problem with the signal cable MPII
« on: March 26, 2013, 09:20:45 PM »
Hi I have a MPII (rear) with a 36 V and I have had problem with the signal. First time I have some bad experience as the motor was running with out control. Afterwards I got a problem with the brakes that where not working. All in all I got a new signal cable after my motor was dead and that solved my problem for last 6 months but now I have again the same problem. Sometimes the brakes are not working and sometimes the motor is not responding. However I can solve the problem when I twist the signal cable in some special way.  :-\

I don't want to buy and change my cable signal every 6 month so I would like to know if someone have had the same problem and what to do?
Some suggestions?
What could be the reason that the signal cable is having bad connection after sometime?

Thanks

Quiro

Hi Quiro,

Same issue several times here - I cut the plugs off and soldered the wires together. Fixed permanently.

Cheers

Hi fnbroken,

Thanks for the information, so it not just me that have that problems. However I cut my first cable but I was not sure if is the negative cable that is going in the metal piece around all the connectors (the round copper around all the signal cable). Do you have some pic or graphic of the connection. How do you do afterwards if you need to fix something like spokes??

Thanks

Quiro

hmm...i don't recall joining anything for the copper parts...8 wires in one side - 8 wires out the other.

I stipped all the plastic off the back and matched the individual lugs.

Im praying nothing goes wrong :)
