4 Would a Magic Controler be suitable???
5: I'm thinking to use the BLT-800 48v 800W-1100rpm motor

Medium speed high torque brushless motor
High energy efficiency
Light weight
Voltage:36V-60V
Power Rate:500W-1000rpm -650W-1000rpm -800W-1100rpm

Found another BLDC motor
1000w to 1500w  48v to 60v
Motor speed 3500rpm
6 to 1 planetary gear reduction  = 583.3rpm

I was wondering if this motor would be better???

The 1000w to 1500w motors are great but you need to use a freewheel with them that means also you loose reverse if you use them you cannot use it non-freewheel .  And regen breaking just locks wheels up ! too powerfull the motor cog is normally Motorcycle up 420 chain ....if you look at data figures for that motor you have to divid motor RPM by 5. I think on that range but you also Multiply Nm. by 5   ..could do with seperate gearbox with them single varible speed .. just does not feel right they can just take off till speed.. and the you think need gearbox ....i have used 350 and 500w (430c too)... 1000 to 1500w you can go up mountains with that... varible drives are great on the flats but up montains they soon have burnt blue rubber smoke !
Yes the 800w 1100 rpm would be more practical direct drive Nm not so high !    ,,,,,have idea  2x  800w the exceleration gear with freewheel  and the other for high speed  you can use both motors for exceleration and when you get to exceration motor run out speed your high speed one is all ready running ,, and will go on till it balances load and motor .  and you can have regen braking too!
What kind of tricycle !  and size and load ?
Try to put a smile on the face of others it cost nothing ...by what you say !

Hi thaialien

Ended up using BLT 800w 1100rpm motor for my chopper convertion 8)

Battery 48v Golden Motor with modded Cruise Controller 1000w peek   ;D

She cruises at around 35km/h and climbs hills far better than a 48v MagicPie :D

Regen braking I had to back off to 50%  it was to savage at 100% LOL ::)

I used the 1500w geared motor in my electric jeep  :D

Thanks WHO42
seems like you rate this motor (did you find any dimension drawings for it ? )or a site ?
Kog on motor is it for bicycle chain or small motorcycle ?
Controler used (moded how ?)
it would be nice Magic cruise controler was just a front end device and the power section you could have varying levels and voltage on power module (and seperate for control ) 24v to 150v and power 1000w to 20,000w
Noise ?
the 1500w geared in jeep how did that perform (take off I think is not gental like slipping the clutch )
Did you use chain drive ?
await your respose
