GM Lithium 48V 12AH vs GM LifePO4 48V 10AH

Just wondering if anyone has tried the GM LifePO4 batteries yet. I have a friend that might be purchasing a 48V Pie and what wondering which battery people would recommend. I realize the 12AH lithium should provide a longer run time than the 10AH LifePO4, but was hoping someone had some real-life data. Is one more reliable than the other?

For the record, I own a 48V Lithium on my dual pie setup.

Hi there...
I just hope someone answers your question... I just got 48V10Ah from GM but I'm sending it to my friend to mount the MP KIT. I using LiMnO version 48V/12Ah.

Sub question... is LiFePo4 version similar to this:

Hmm, I think I can take this challenge on in a road test. I'll test a 48v10ah Lifepo4 one day to work and a 48v12ah the next. Ill use the CA for stats. Should be able to get some intersting data to compare

Ok test is complete. I did two rides on the same road at the same time of day. I must say a new battery is always a blast :)

The ride was full speed long gradual incline 10 miles uphill to work. Total Rolling weight of about 450 pounds. It's not me it's the bike, the trailor, the batteries and my gear for work that make it so heavy  ;)  Both batteries feel the same, very strong steady pulling power. Virtually no difference in the level of power or feel when driving.

48v10ah lifePO4 gets 9.627 AH used before the bms kicks it out



48v12ah lithium gets 10.57 AH used before the bms kicks it out



Which ones better? Hmmm

Looks like a tough call. So what exactly does this data mean? Correct me if I'm wrong but what I see is:

The lifePO4 was able to use the most of its capacity, and because of the slightly lower voltage (51.5V vs 53.9V) drew less juice overall. Or is this just because the lithium battery has been used more?
Both batteries felt the same you said, but did you happen to notice top speeds?
My guess is the lifePO4 will be the most consistent in the long run. Is the max/continuous discharge rate greater than the lithium?

Whoops I should have mentioned ignore the voltage and only read the amps used. The voltage shown is after the battery kicked out I hooked it up to another so I could read the amps used. So the volts are from a second battery I had with me.
