Hi, when my warranty runs out next Feb, I want to use my Magic Pie 1kW motor with an external controller, instead of the existing internal controller. I'm not after increased speed, but better torque for hills. I have read the internal controllers are limited to 15A. I also have read something like the Infineon controller would be suitable. I have 3 questions: how is the internal controller bypassed, and the new external controller connected? In choosing which external controller to use, I need to know the current rating of the battery which is a new GM 48V 12Ah Lithium Iron pack. The website says max discharge is 35A, and max continuous is 20A. I assume I should go for the lower figure, so maybe choose the 20A or 25A external controller. Or should I go for a higher current controller, eg 35A and also get a cycle analyst system to monitor the current drain. Anyone got any experience of this?
