motor not turning the wheel, but makes vibrates
« on: December 25, 2010, 05:13:37 AM »
I'm having a problem with my motor. I have everything hooked up, but when I activate the throttle, my motor basically vibrates and buzzes, and the motor does not turn the wheel, and it will stop the wheel from turning.
If anyone knows of a solution please let me know.
Thanks.

maybe this helps,
or this,

There might be a problem with your hallsensors.

Do you know if the wheel turns with no load and giving it a spin and throttle full open?
have you tried anything from the manual that might help:

2.      Motor hall-sensor malfunctions:
When the controller detects a motor hall-sensor failure, it will beep twice before
automatically entering into sensor-independent control mode. Twist/press the
throttle to run the motor and pedal your bike for a push start if the motor does not
operate. (This malfunction seldom happens in a state of sensor-independent
control status)

yes I believe it was the regen braking wire. I don't think my controller is compatible with regenerative breaking, and it would just stop the motor. Not really sure why! If anyone could explain how that works, that would be sweet.

all gm motor controllers have regen braking, if it is badly connected and only makes contact ones in a while, rapidly. then it will vibrate and buzz.

make sure that all the connections are good to go, also make some test runs before doing the long jurneys.

if the brake levers are pulled then it stops the motor from getting any energy and therefore it will not run, and it will be hard to turn as the regen braking is also applied automatically.
